Terms of Use

These terms cover this website. The work we do on your vehicle is covered by what we agree with you at the station.

About these terms

This site is operated by VTest Group SA, the group behind a network of vehicle testing stations in Gauteng, South Africa. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

VTest Group SA is the group name. Each testing station is a separately registered business, and the work on your vehicle is carried out by the station you visit. Anything you agree about that work is agreed with that station.

Using the site

You are welcome to read this site and share links to it for any lawful purpose. You may not interfere with it, try to reach any part of it you have not been given access to, use it to distribute anything harmful, or copy its contents in bulk by automated means without our written permission.

What this site is, and what it is not

This site describes the services offered at our testing stations. It is written to be accurate, but it is a general description, not a quote and not a booking. In particular:

  • Turnaround times, including the roughly 25 to 45 minutes quoted on this site, describe a typical visit. How long your visit takes depends on the vehicle, the queue on the day and what the test finds.
  • Not every station can do every job. Our Grade B station cannot test heavy vehicles. If your vehicle is heavy, call the station before you travel.
  • A test tells you the condition of the vehicle on the day it is tested. It is not a warranty, a guarantee of roadworthiness afterwards, or a substitute for maintaining the vehicle.
  • Whether a certificate is issued depends on whether the vehicle passes. Paying for a test pays for the test, not for a pass.

Prices, services and station details change. What we are obliged to do for you is what we agree with you at the station, not what appears on a web page.

Licensing and registration work

Where we handle licensing and registration paperwork, we do so on your behalf: we stand in the queue and submit the documents so that you do not have to. We are not a Registering Authority, and the decision on any application, along with how long it takes, rests with the authority concerned and not with us.

Getting in touch through this site

Sending us a message through the contact form is a request to talk. It is not a booking, it does not commit you to anything, and it does not commit us to supply anything. We will confirm arrangements with you directly. What we do with the details you send is set out in our privacy policy.

Our content

The text, layout, graphics, photographs and logos on this site belong to VTest Group SA or to the parties who licensed them to us. Nothing here gives you a licence to use any of it beyond reading the site, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Third party names and logos remain the property of their owners.

Links to other sites

Where we link to another organisation we do so because it is useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Availability

We do not promise that this site will always be available or free of faults. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or from reliance on anything published here. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008, where it applies to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and the version on the site at the time you use it is the version that applies.
